Limpopo police are offering a reward of R20,000 to anyone who can provide credible information leading to the arrest and successful conviction of Lovemore Musoyi, a highly sought-after suspect wanted in connection with multiple serious crimes.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has intensified their efforts to capture Musoyi, a 35-year-old Zimbabwean national, who is linked to over 10 criminal cases. These include murder, attempted murder, various armed robberies, house and business robberies, kidnapping, assault, stock theft, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. His crimes have been reported across several areas in the Sekhukhune District, including Elandskraal, Motetema, Dennilton, and Rakgoadi.
Musoyi has been on the run following several brutal incidents. One such attack took place on June 20, 2024, around 7:45 p.m., when Musoyi and his accomplices targeted a tuck shop in Mafisheng village during a business robbery. According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Musoyi attacked a male victim with an axe, accusing him of betrayal, before looting the shop and escaping with cash and soft drinks.
Musoyi’s criminal activities date back several years. Notably, on January 1, 2023, he managed to escape from police custody while being transported to Witbank Correctional Services. This dramatic escape took place at Moutse Mall in Dennilton, where Musoyi, along with two other suspects, broke free from a police vehicle. The other suspects were eventually re-arrested, but Musoyi has remained at large.
In another incident on February 2, 2024, Musoyi was involved in a violent confrontation at his ex-girlfriend’s home, during which he shot her brother in the mouth before fleeing with a stolen television set.
Limpopo’s Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has reassured the public that a dedicated team of specialized detectives is working around the clock to track down Musoyi and ensure he is brought to justice.
The SAPS urges anyone with information about Musoyi’s whereabouts to contact Lieutenant Colonel Boshomane at 079 894 5501, Warrant Officer Phaladi Makola at 082 749 2233, or use the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the My SAPS App.
